Mechanical Engineer (Entry Level)
In this role, you will engineer and provide mechanical design solutions to aid in the function of many types of assemblies, processes, and components.
Responsibilities:
- Create models for use in the layout and design of component assemblies and weldments.
- Maintain and update internal and external drawings and revision levels.
- Create and maintain part numbers and bills of materials in ERP.
- Assess and understand vendor capabilities and assist with manufacturers' inquiries.
- Research and design mechanical components for integration.
- Collaborate with internal departments to understand design, function, and assembly.
- Verify component fitment on new designs.
- Maintain high standards of professionalism in attitudes and communication.
- Maintain a clean and professional office and work area environment.
- Other tasks and responsibilities, as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education enrolled or recent graduate of a Mechanical Design or Engineering program.
- Minimum one to three years of experience with 3D modeling or CAD programming.
- Experience using the Solid Works model program.
- Good hands-on feel for components and space.
- Understanding of metal and plastic fabrication processes. (laser, punch form, weld, heat bent, vacuum form, injection molding, and 3D printing)
- Ability to perform and understand dimensions, thickness, etc.
- Assist prototype completion and first article inspection and assembly.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.), as well as Google Docs.
